So on January 19th I premiered Static live in front of my Family and friends needless to say we had to make it legit and do a photo-shoot. We had a blast and i can’t wait to finally share the film with yall the rest of the world!

Static Shock Phenomenon is a Yvz Productions adaptation of the comic book and tv show superhero character “Static Shock” created by Dwayne McDuffie for milestone comics who later became a character for DC comics. This is a Non Profit fan film mini web series that follows the stories of high schoolers Virgil Hawkins and Richie Foley. After an incident later named the “Big Bang” which caused many of the gang youth in Dakota City including Virgil become gifted with meta human powers. Episode 1 takes you through Virgil’s first 48 hours the night after the “Big Bang” what he did and how he decided to become Dakota’s Hero and Protector.

Editing not sleeping iv been a herit for the past week gotta do what i gotta do
So imma gona gush really quick, the dude holding the gun is played by my younger brother. Fun fact he hates it when i put him on camera cuz 2 reasons one i kinda always figure things out as we go, like on any shoot i have regardless of pre-made plans. Two he hates having to reshoot or set up for a new angle of the same line or scene he just wants to do it once and be done. Movies aren’t done in just a few takes it takes forever some times. Yet he continues to help me when i need him, off camera he’s more like a pack mule lol he helps set up and move equipment the proper title for that is the “Grip” which means helper basically. My brother Devin has a good heart one of the nicest people i know i much nicer and better person than me. I love this shot cuz while editing im just thinking about how rigorous that while day was we went to like 4 locations and were filming for 12 hours! That was the last location at the end of the night and all of us were dead tired yet here we stand. Most of the day he was helping move stuff and he was booming the sound. Filmmaking isn’t his interest but he helps me a ton sometimes he suggets good ideas and often hes my main camera man. I love that he’s part of my crew. Me and my brother are 2 years apart so we are close like 2 halves of the same person in attitude and the way we think and see things. I love my little brother for all he does and glad to have him. Im really glad that i was able to have him be apart of my first major production and not just him everybody who helped me make this are my best friends and we had alot of fun over the year of making this. As they say if u have fun making it people will forsure enjoy watching it cuz we are a close family here at YVZ Productions and i wouldn’t want it any other way
We are almost ready to premiere there is just one final scene to edit and score if we arn’t done by the 5th then expect it it to be up by the 10th. Why my Virgil flies on a skateboard
That move you see Virgil doing is called an Invert, so i automatically think Virgil is a skater, plus you see a skateboard in his room in the season 3 intro. Plus me myself am a skater therefore my Virgil Hawkins is a skater and thats why Static fies on a skateboard and a trash can lid :D
I think i just had my first head cannon moment is that a head cannon?
Here’s the remake idea of Gear’s helmet. Still sticking with a more ODST look, but loss the bulky sides. Going with the visor look, not the full face thing. It isn’t as round as the show’s either, its more stream lined. Richie is a slim character, which implies some kind of agility. So the helmet shows that need for speed kinda thing. So i went with slightly sharper angles. I’ll work on it more. What do yall think?
